Installation

  1. Install from your shell (answer y to add the marketplace)

    $ claude plugin install lightbox --marketplace arihantbansal/claude-lightbox

Already in a session? Type this at the Claude Code prompt:

What does lightbox do?

  • Pasting an image opens a large preview above the prompt; typing collapses it to thumbnails
  • Moving the cursor onto an [Image #n] tag reopens that image
  • Header shows dimensions, file size, the downscaled 'sent as' size and an estimated token count for the session's model
  • Writes a short caption per image with claude -p in the background (sonnet, haiku or off in /config)

What do you need?

  • Claude Code 2.1.287 or later (terminal)
  • Terminal with the kitty graphics protocol, such as Ghostty or kitty (not inside tmux)
  • macOS or Linux
