Installation

  1. Install from your shell (answer y to add the marketplace)

    $ claude plugin install router --marketplace alexei-led/claude-router

What does router do?

  • Picks a model and effort for each main-conversation turn based on a prompt classifier's tier and activity
  • Classifier choices: Jev, Cloudflare Clef or Clef Flash, OpenAI, or a local Ollama model
  • Band above the prompt shows the tier, activity, model and reason for each turn
  • /router opens a pane to pin a tier, edit each tier's model and effort, tune policy and view usage
  • /router auto turns routing on; /model picks a model and turns routing off

What do you need?

  • Claude Code 2.1.287 or later (terminal)
  • Claude Code 2.1.289 or newer
  • Credentials for one classifier: Jev API key, Cloudflare API token and account ID, or OpenAI API key
  • Or a local Ollama server with a pulled model instead of a hosted classifier

How do you uninstall router?

$ claude plugin uninstall router

To switch it off without removing it, use claude plugin disable with the same name.
