What does auto-effort do?

  • Asks a decision model how much effort each prompt needs and overrides the effort for that prompt
  • Providers: local Nisev 1.7B via llama.cpp, or cloud Jev/Clef through OpenCode Zen, TypeSafe or another endpoint
  • /auto-effort shows provider, missing setup, Nisev state and the last decision; /auto-effort setup chooses the provider
  • /auto-effort off and on stop or resume the overrides, saved across sessions
  • AUTO_EFFORT_INCLUDE_CONTEXT=false sends only the prompt to the provider

What do you need?

  • Claude Code 2.1.287 or later (terminal)
  • A decision-model provider: llama.cpp b11361+ with a one-time 1.9 GB download (local Nisev), or an AUTO_EFFORT_API_KEY for a provider serving Jev or Clef
