Installation

  1. Install from your shell (answer y to add the marketplace)

What does winnow do?

  • Judges large Read, Bash and Grep results block by block before they enter Claude's context
  • Replaces confidently unneeded blocks with a three-line stub: what was hidden, a summary and a recall key
  • Claude restores hidden text on demand with winnow_recall
  • Injects relevant project memory files at prompt time
  • Shadow mode logs what it would hide without changing what Claude sees

What do you need?

  • Claude Code 2.1.287 or later (terminal)
  • Python 3.10+ and uv
  • TypeSafe Jev API key (early access), or an Anthropic API key with WINNOW_JUDGE=adapter
  • Anthropic credentials for summaries (optional)

How do you uninstall winnow?

$ claude plugin uninstall winnow

To switch it off without removing it, use claude plugin disable with the same name.
