Installation

  1. Install from your shell (answer y to add the marketplace)

    $ claude plugin install silica-core --marketplace kiycoh/silica-core

What does silica-core do?

  • Index button above the prompt in unindexed folders; "Not here" hides it for that folder
  • /silica-init runs silica-core init to build the local index for the current folder
  • Adds a one-line hint to try silica_search first when a prompt names no file or symbol
  • MCP tools silica_search, silica_read, silica_files, silica_code_pack and silica_write_note
  • Search hits report file, section, line, coverage and query terms absent from the corpus

What do you need?

  • Claude Code 2.1.287 or later (terminal)
  • uv (installs pinned Python packages, and Python 3.11+ if missing)
  • One-time download of the potion-retrieval-32M model from Hugging Face
