Installation

  1. Install from your shell (answer y to add the marketplace)

What does taskcut do?

  • Compacts the conversation when Claude moves from one finished sub-task to the next
  • Acts only once context passes a floor, 35% by default
  • A sonnet judge reads your messages and Claude's steps, never tool output
  • After compacting it sends Continue. so the work carries on in the same run
  • /taskcut shows what the judge has spent in the session

What do you need?

  • Claude Code 2.1.287 or later (terminal)
  • Interactive sessions only; does not run under claude -p or the SDK

How do you uninstall taskcut?

$ claude plugin uninstall taskcut

To switch it off without removing it, use claude plugin disable with the same name.
