Installation

  1. Install from your shell (answer y to add the marketplace)

What does spindle do?

  • SessionStart hook loads headlines into the spinner and refreshes in the background when the cache is over 30 minutes old
  • headline-writer agent cleans every feed title on Haiku before it can reach the spinner
  • Mod shows the headline in the Desktop app's spinner row while keeping tool steps visible
  • /spindle:configure tailors topics and feeds; /spindle:status, /spindle:refresh and /spindle:reset
  • Default sources: Hacker News, Reddit and RSS feeds, no API keys

  • Claude Code 2.1.287 or later (terminal)
  • Python 3.8+
