Installation

  1. 1. Clone the repository

    $ git clone https://github.com/briangtn/claude-gfm-render.git

  2. 2. Start Claude Code with the mod loaded for this session

    $ claude --plugin-dir ./claude-gfm-render

The repository has no marketplace file yet, so this loads the mod for one session. Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later, in a terminal. Full install guide

What does gfm-render do?

  • Draws GFM alerts like > [!WARNING] in Claude's replies as colored boxes
  • Shows task lists as ☐ / ☑ checkboxes and renders ~~strikethrough~~ in the terminal
  • Draws Mermaid flowchart, sequence, state, class, ER and xychart diagrams as Unicode art in the terminal
  • Renders Mermaid as SVG on desktop, VS Code and mobile; ctrl+o still shows the original text
  • A SessionStart hook tells Claude which GFM it can write; turn off with the promptHint option

What do you need?

  • Claude Code 2.1.287 or later (terminal)
  • Optional: node on PATH for Mermaid SVG rendering on desktop
