Installation

  1. Install from your shell (answer y to add the marketplace)

    $ claude plugin install aside --marketplace JayDoubleu/aside

Already in a session? Type this at the Claude Code prompt:

$ /plugin install aside --marketplace JayDoubleu/aside

What does aside do?

  • /aside opens a side chat pane beside the transcript to ask questions about the session so far
  • Answers come from a tool-less fork of the session transcript that shares the main prompt cache
  • Side questions and answers are never written back, so the main model never sees them
  • Each answer's footer shows its source, latency and cache-read, new and output tokens
  • Pane docks beside the transcript at 110+ columns and opens above the prompt when narrower

How do you uninstall aside?

$ claude plugin uninstall aside

To switch it off without removing it, use claude plugin disable with the same name.
