Installation

  1. 1. Clone the repository

    $ git clone https://github.com/mukiwu/jev-search-mcp.git

  2. 2. Start Claude Code with the mod loaded for this session

    $ claude --plugin-dir ./jev-search-mcp

The repository has no marketplace file yet, so this loads the mod for one session. Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later, in a terminal. Full install guide

What does jev-search do?

  • Intercepts WebSearch and returns Jev's ranked results with relevance percentages
  • Falls back to the built-in WebSearch on errors, rate limits or empty results
  • Toast after each search with the result count, sources and time taken
  • Adds guidance to the WebSearch description and session context on writing one-sentence queries
  • Bundles a jev_search MCP tool with sources and window options, plus a jev-search skill

What do you need?

  • Claude Code 2.1.287 or later (terminal)
  • Network access to a Jev Search instance (default jev.s1.dev, about 10 requests per minute per IP)
